Founded by Lane Johnson—a seasoned contractor, former insurance claims COO, and trusted litigation expert witness—Johnson Dispute Resolution exists to bring absolute clarity to complex claims. We combine deep boots-on-the-ground building experience with master-level insurance acumen to ensure your dispute is handled with total precision.
When the truth matters and the stakes are high, count on Lane and his elite team of appraisers to deliver.
Call comes in. We talk through the dispute, the file, and the realistic outcomes on the phone. If the engagement makes sense, Lane assigns the right appraiser or auditor. If it doesn’t, we say so on the call and point you somewhere useful.
Site visit, measurements, photo documentation, cause-of-loss analysis. Scope built from the file up — not from a template and not from the opposing side’s estimate.
Scope, methodology, photo documentation, calculations, and the supporting basis for every line item. In writing. Not a statement of payment. Not a one-page conclusion.
Report delivered, with a call to walk through it if the carrier wants one. If the file heads to umpire, mediation, or trial, the record is already built. We support it from there.
Why JDR Exists
Lane Johnson founded Johnson Dispute Resolution because the appraisal clause was getting used as a settlement device by one side of the table and a rubber stamp by the other. Neither of those uses is what the clause is for, and neither of them serves the carriers who end up paying.
JDR was built to be neither. We accept engagements only from carriers, TPAs, and coverage counsel — but our commitment is to what the file shows, not to advocating a predetermined outcome. That distinction is the entire premise of the firm.
45+ years in property loss
Lane started in 1976 as a contractor. He learned the work on roofs, in basements, on jobs that came back wrong and had to be fixed at his own cost. Adjusting license. Chief Operating Officer of Pacesetter Claims Service. Training practice across Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, and beyond. Expert witness in property claim disputes for years.
That’s the depth every JDR file gets.
